Cloud Computing is a new style of computing that provides an as-is service via the internet to several customers or users. In a way, Cloud Computing could virtually offer applications over the internet that can be used by several end users and not have to worry about locally storing intense data and have a very high reliability factor.
Cloud, as in terms of what the non-techie folks call it, is a big pocket of moisture in the sky. But enough about powdery dreams, Cloud Computing does get its name from the actual “Cloud” as it is an on-demand approach to building IT services all hosted on remote servers instead of software that is required to be installed on separate computers. Ever seen a tag cloud on a website? Think of it in those terms when you have a bunch of different key words all collected in the virtual sky readily available for you to fly through with an airplane.
By nature, the on-demand structure of Cloud Computing is made up of collections of independent compute resources that all together perform large tasks. It is almost like combining two heads into one, in the end the conclusion is reached much faster and usually with better results when compared to just one head.
The diagram below demonstrates what a typical Cloud computing farm is composed of. The data and computer resources are combined so that users can access this information without delay.
