Learn How To Play SNES Games On Your Apple iPad

play-snes-on-apple-ipadRecently posted 4 easy steps on how to plan SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) on your iPad. I have to say that it actually works. I did not believe it at first but I am sitting here playing Super Mario World, Mortal Kombat II and F Zero.

You may remember some of the games I just mentioned above but could you image playing them on your iPad at full speed and in full-screen? This is probably the most fun I have had in a long time (I don’t get out much).

Below is a video simplifying the whole process of getting SNES games to play on your iPad. A quick note about this process is you will have to jailbreak your iPad. If you are at all familiar with jailbreaking, then you already know the risks involved. Jailbreaking your iPad involves a process of using a re-developed operating system for your iPad that was not originally intended for it by Apple.

To get this up and running you will need an iPad, iPad Sync Cable, a computer (preferably a Mac or Windows PC) and a Wiimote from the Wii console.

Video Game Sales Weaken in October

video game sales slow in octoberThis month was very disappointing for the video game industry as sales of games, consoles and even accessories were all down. Several new titles have been announced for later this year before Christmas and the first quarter of 2010 which could show a much-needed increase in sales.

There is some light at the end of the tunnel considering that a few highly anticipated video games are slated to come out just before Christmas and right after. Modern Warfare 2 and Mass Effect 2 are two very promising titles that should have a direct affect on the sales of video games as they should increase after release.

Sales were down about 13 percent for the month of October year-to-date figures at $11.4 billion where last year was a record $21 billion in sales. Taking into account that during the holidays you will see a massive increase in sales, industry experts do not expect this year to match the figures of last. They cannot simply catch up at this point.

Nintendo still leads the industry for hardware sales with the Wii slightly falling off in October making $380.7 million. Wii still is the best selling gaming system followed by the Nintendo DS handheld gaming system and then the PlayStation 3 falling in 3rd place for sales.

What games will you be purchasing this year and next? Do you plan on spending less in the year 2010 for games and gaming hardware?
