Ready to play dress up with Elmo on Sesame Street? Sure, Katy Perry wants to play only she had such a low-cut cleavage revealing dress that parents demanded that her segment be cut.

The popular singer Kate Perry at age 25 was in a Sesame Street segment performing a kid-friend version of her hit “Hot N Cold” with Elmo. Before it aired, parents saw the leaked segment and thought her yellow low-cut dress was a little too revealing of her cleavage. Parents reportedly (TMZ) sent angry letters to the broadcast asking that it not be aired. One person even states that the segment should be called “Cleavage Avenue”.

Here is the leaked video of the segment of Katy Perry on Sesame Street.

A Sesame Street spokes person replied to the angry viewers with this statement:

“Sesame Street has a long history of working with celebrities across all genres, including athletes, actors, musicians and artists. Sesame Street has always been written on two levels, for the child and adult. We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or care-giver. We also value our viewer’s opinions and particularly those of parents. In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on You Tube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers. Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on You Tube.”

After the whole ordeal, Katy Perry later replied on her Twitter account with the update: “I can totally tell you how to get to Sesame Street! I’ve been, Elmo & I hang out.”

What do you think? Do you think this was still kid friendly? Was her ‘stuff’ hanging out a bit too much? Bottom line, do you think this was appropriate enough for kids now days considering all of the other garbage that they watch either on TV or real live situations.
